JCATS documents
This page collects documents about JCATS, the Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation. I am currently employed as a Systems Administrator by the Estonian National Defence Academy Simulation Centre, where this application is used. All comments are welcome at lemmit.kaplinski@ksk.edu.ee.
JCATS terminal setup
While JCATS itself does not natively support Linux remote display features, the client installation can be configured without local storage in a netboot environment. This document describes one way to set up Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.x and JCATS 7.1.x, using cheap terminal devices.

JCTAS terminal performance
Official JCATS hardware requirements are very demanding. The following document describes, in a crude fashion, some aspects that relate to JCATS performance in a diskless terminal setup. I'd like to emphasize that the methods used are crude and all conclusions preliminary. Nevertheless the data has helped me to detect some bottlenecks and possible solutions.
